Hopper Mix


Hoppers or Appam as they are known in Sri Lanka, are a bowl shaped pancake made from rice flour and coconut milk.  They have a thin and crispy outside edge with a soft doughy centre.  Traditionally eaten plain or with an egg in the centre, they are served with a variety of curries and sambols.  They also make delicious treats for pudding!

These kits are dairy free, gluten free and suitable for vegetarians.  Made fresh to order ensuring each pack arrives as fresh as it can be.

Notoriously difficult to get the recipe right, Hari Hari Hopper Mix makes it easy for you to prepare perfect hoppers at home.

Preparation of Hari Hari Hopper Mix

Made up fresh to order, so you get a Hopper Mix that is as fresh as can be.  These are made from rice flour which makes it suitable for people with gluten and dairy intolerances.  Each pack weighs 500g and will make approximately 25 – 30 hoppers.

Once you have made up the batter, it only has a 1 hour proving time before you can get going with making your very own hoppers.


You can keep the hopper mix sealed in its bag till the use by date but once opened, transfer to an airtight container.

Once the batter is made, you can cover it and keep in the fridge for up to 5 days.

The hoppers themselves are best eaten immediately!!
