Warm and welcoming spices blended for the perfect dhal curry.  High in protein, dhal (red lentils/split red peas) is one of the staple dishes in Sri Lanka.  This is a mild and mellow dish that serves as a great accompaniment to other curry dishes.  Cooked in coconut milk or just water if you prefer,  this also tastes great on its own with bread for a quick curry fix.

Serves 4 – 5 people depending on portion size.

Product Description

Bits to buy
125g Lentils (Split peas/Red lentils)
1 Small Onion
1 Medium Tomato
400ml Coconut Milk
2-3 Garlic Cloves

From the cupboard
1tbsp Vegetable/Sunflower Oil
Salt to taste

Optional but super tasty
1/2tsp Ginger
Handful of fresh Coriander, Spinach or Watercress
2 Fresh Green Chilli
2cm Piece of Lemongrass

Spice Pack 1 – Cinnamon, Pandanus leaves, Curry leaves, Mustard seeds, Cardamom
Spice Pack 2 – Turmeric, Unroasted Curry Powder, Cumin, Mustard
Spice Pack 3 – Chilli
